Australia and Indonesia Strengthen Economic Partnership with Prosperity Exhibition

Australian Deputy Ambassador Gita Kamath and the Indonesian Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti launched the Indonesia-Australia Prosperity Exhibition 2025 today in Jakarta, bringing together government leaders, industry innovators, and development partners to celebrate the growing economic partnership between Indonesia and Australia.

Since the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA-CEPA) came into force, bilateral trade has doubled, reaching AUD 35.4 billion in 2024.

“This exhibition is a powerful reminder of what Indonesia and Australia can achieve together. Through Katalis, we are not just trading goods—we are building skills, creating jobs, and shaping a more inclusive and resilient regional economy,” said Deputy Ambassador Kamath.

A key feature of the exhibition was the Katalis Program Showcase, highlighting five years of impactful collaboration under IA-CEPA. The Katalis Program Showcase featured success stories across priority sectors, including health and aged care, vocational training, digital transformation, and agriculture.

“Several Katalis’s achievements deserve recognition, such as accelerating fruit exports to Australia, supporting a pilot project to export Indonesian premium cocoa products, and empowering women entrepreneurship. Katalis has facilitated meaningful engagement between Indonesian and Australian businesses, contributing to our bi-lateral relationship,” said Dyah Roro Esti, Indonesian Vice Minister of Trade.

Among the highlights was a partnership between the University of New England and Binawan University, delivering Australian-certified aged care training in Jakarta in collaboration with Living Well Seniors Communities. Digital identity firm Privy also shared its journey into the Australian market, supported by Katalis.

The Katalis Showcase underscored the program’s role as a catalyst for inclusive growth and a future-ready bilateral relationship—one that continues to thrive through shared vision and strategic cooperation.
