Unlocking Indonesia-Australia Investment
October 21, 2025
Two-way investment between Australia and Indonesia has grown steadily over recent years but remains modest in scale. As of 2023, Australia accounts for just 2% of Indonesia’s inward Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) stock, while Indonesia represents 1.5% of Australia’s total FDI stock.
In 2024, Katalis commenced a study to examine and understand the level of two-way direct investment between Indonesia and Australia, in recognition of the strong opportunities to further grow and enhance investment. The study analysed the investment landscape of both markets and identified barriers to investment and opportunities to increase two-way direct investment.
