Supported by Katalis, this project examines the potential for the bilateral exchange of nurses between Australia and Indonesia. This report describes trends in the need, demand and supply of nurses in Australia and Indonesia, as well as some of the barriers to nurse mobility. The focus of the analysis is on qualified nurses (enrolled and registered nurses), as there is little data on unregistered care workers. The key findings and results in this report draw from analysis of quantitative data on nursing supply and demand, and interviews with key stakeholders, in both Indonesia and Australia.
